FLANDERS, N.Y. — A Riverhead woman was arrested Monday after threatening a man with a knife in Flanders, police said.
According to Southampton Police, the incident occurred at 2:03 p.m. at a residence on Cypress Avenue. An investigation by officers determined that Cheryl Gormez, 58, of Riverhead, had threatened a male occupant of the home with the knife, police said.
Gormez was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police headquarters for processing. was charged with second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, police said.
He was held overnight to be arraigned in Southampton Town Court, police said.
