WESTBROOK, CT — The Connecticut Spelling Bee will return to West Hartford on March 3rd. Participants will have the opportunity to represent the state in the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Among those contestants will be a student from Westbrook High School, according to a pageant statement.
The 7th Annual Connecticut Spelling Bee is presented by the Noah Webster House and the West Hartford Historical Society. The competition will be held at 1:00pm on March 3rd in Hoffmann Auditorium at Saint Joseph's University at 1678 Asylum Ave. in West Hartford.
Students who made it to the state competition have already won school-wide or city-wide spelling bees. Over 10,000 Connecticut students in grades two through eight are competing in the spelling bee this year. Fifty-seven students will now advance to the nationwide competition.
