SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — As Veterans Day approaches on Nov. 11, local youth and organizations have come together to pay tribute to the nation's heroes.
In honor of Veterans Day, members of the Southampton High School Navy Patriot Club, along with local Boy Scouts and veterans organizations, continued their tradition of placing 1,200 flags on veterans' graves at Sacred Hearts and Southampton Cemeteries.
The flags will be collected by volunteers after Veterans Day, district officials said.
