SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — The Southampton School District board of education is considering purchasing a new building.
According to the district, at the March 22 BOE meeting, a presentation will be made regarding the potential purchase of a building located at 300-310 Hampton Road to be used as a central district office and resource center at no additional cost to taxpayers.
If given the go-ahead by the board, the community will then have the opportunity to vote on the purchase as a proposition during the May 17 school budget vote and trustee election, the district said.
Funds to purchase the building will be taken from the capital reserve approved by the community in 2009, earmarked for the district offices and bus garage, officials said.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Southampton Intermediate School Music Room, located at 70 Leland Lane in Southampton.
