SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — An eighth-grader from Southampton made a splash on the field recently.
Carlie Kreymborg, who attends Southampton Intermediate School, recently won the Section XI Varsity Field Hockey Player of the Year title, the district said.
Kreymborg, a first-year varsity player, was the only Division XI athlete to earn the honor because “she is an impactful and vital player for her team,” district officials added.
During the season, Kreymborg played every position on the pitch except goalkeeper and sweeper. He also scored three goals.
“The Southampton Union Free School District congratulates Carlie on this impressive honor,” the district said.
