HAMPTON BAYS, NY — Theodore “Bill” Springer, a devoted family man and respected salesman, departed this world on March 6, 2024, at the age of 86, in Boca Raton, Florida. Born December 16, 1937, in Syosset, New York, Bill was a beacon of joy and the embodiment of a life well lived to all who knew him.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by his beloved wife, Leah J. Springer, with whom he shared 36 years of steadfast love and companionship, his five children, 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; Bill was reunited with his late mother, father and three sisters in eternal rest.
Throughout his professional life, Bill was recognized for his unwavering commitment and ability as a Ford salesman, a career he pursued with passion and integrity. His passion for his work was matched only by the passion he exhibited in all aspects of his life.
Bill's younger years were marked by a keen enthusiasm for sports, particularly baseball, a joy that continued to shine throughout his life. In his later years, Bill found solace and pleasure in golf, dancing and exploring new places with Leah, nearly completing an ambitious tour of every baseball park in the United States and Canada – a true testament to his enduring love for the game. However, it was the quiet moments spent fishing alongside his son Ryan Springer that held a special place in Bill's heart as his most cherished pastime.
A service to celebrate and honor the life of Theodore “Bill” Springer will be held on April 6, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Hampton Bays United Methodist Church, located at 158 West Montauk Highway, Hampton Bays, New York 11946. Burial will follow at Good Ground Cemetery, where Bill will be laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in Bill's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
