EAST HAMPTON, NY — Sunshine Boutique has moved from Amagansett to East Hampton.
Heidi Humes, owner of the lifestyle boutique, features items handcrafted by female artisans from around the world, including exclusively designed clothing and accessories, home decor and unique gifts.
“I'm a big believer that change brings good. I'm excited to bring my Sunshine World to East Hampton and build community among some of my neighborhood's most beloved small businesses,” said Humes, former director of retail at DVF.
Humes said she has traveled extensively to form personal relationships with the women behind her Sunshine curation.
Highlights include handmade clogs from France from 'Sabot YouYou”, organic makeup by Taylor Foster of Paradise on Main Street in upstate New York, home decor from South Africa with Ashanti Design — as well as Peru, with Intiearth's sustainable frazada collection.
“There are so many things made just for the store in small batches with exclusive designs,” Humes said.
Her relationships run deep with artisans based in Mexico, Africa and Guatemala. Sunshine is a global collection of all her favorite things, made by the women she loves, Humes said.
Additionally, Heidi loves to carry her favorite brands including Amo Denim, all year; handmade cashmere by local designer Alessandra Brunialti Marea clothing is also offered.
Humes will also unveil a new collection of artist works in store for patrons to purchase. This season he works with a team of in-store artists including Michele D'Ermo and Isabel Bornstein, Cole Caswell and Grant Haffner.
Sunshine, located at 98 Newtown Lane, will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from April 6. As the season progresses, the store will also be open on Fridays in May and then Fridays and Mondays in June — and open Thursdays through Mondays in July and August. The store will be open daily from 10am to 4pm.
