Two basketball standouts, Mattituck's Mia Khann and Riverhead's Raleesha Sykes have
signed letters of intent to attend Suffolk County Community College and play for
Suffolk Sharks Women's Basketball Team.
“I chose Suffolk because it seemed to be the best option for me and my current situation
and I knew I had the opportunity to continue playing the sport I love. I never thought
to go to another college and I knew I wanted to go to Suffolk. Based on
two previous meetings I had on the Selden campus only reassured me that I had made it
right choice,” Khann said.
“I chose Suffolk because it is a great start to my higher education and a second chance
to play the sport I love, basketball,” Sykes said.
“We are thrilled to welcome Raleesha and Mia to our program as we rebuild,” said the College
Associate Dean of Athletics and Special Events Neftali Collazo.
“Our goals are team unity, trying to produce the best basketball players and the most

Sykes and Hahn visited Suffolk County Community College earlier this week, where
they were greeted by coaches, staff and administrators for a ceremonial signing and welcome.
