SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — A stunning Southampton home once owned by comedy legend Mel Brooks and his wife, actress Anne Bancroft, has sold for its full asking price of $4.995 million, according to Douglas Elliman.
The home, located on prestigious Meadow Lane, was listed with Michaela Kezler of Douglas Elliman. Mary Quatroche from Morley Agency brought the buyers. The house was under contract for two weeks, and sold and closed in two months.
Brooks is known for classics such as “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “The Producers” and “Spaceballs,” while Bancroft starred in “The Graduate,” “The Miracle Worker,” “The Elephant Man “, “Agnes of God” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm”.
The 1.33-acre property features a two-story, 2,304-square-foot shingle-style cottage built in 1960 and sits right on Shinnecock Bay, Douglas Elliman said. Directly across from the ocean, the charming four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath residence offers water views from every room. Other featured amenities include fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom, a large deck with outdoor shower and room for expansion, and a pool.
“This is the perfect retreat for anyone looking to be beachside in a prime location while still being close to Southampton Village,” said Douglas Elliman.
