SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Proud parents gathered in Southampton Friday to watch their children's commencement exercise: Members of the Southampton High School Class of 2023 were presented with their diplomas during the district's 130th annual graduation.
During the ceremony, speakers offered congratulations and words of wisdom. The High School Principal Dr. Brian Zahn praised the graduates for their dedication.
“Graduating high school is no easy feat – please don't take it for granted,” she said. “I appreciate all the hard work and legacies you've left behind. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.”
The Superintendent of Schools Dr. Nicholas Dyno. “By showing compassion, you can make a positive difference to those around you,” she said. “Be a good person, give back to your community, be inclusive and determined to change the world.”
Among those representing the graduating class at the podium were Divya Sabath, who spoke on behalf of the alumni at large, and Paige Garvin, who spoke for the student body. Each shared memories of high school and offered thoughtful advice.
The ceremony also featured performances by senior musicians and was followed by the awarding of diplomas.
