SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Southampton counselor is set to be inducted into the Gettysburg College Hall of Athletic Honor.
Jessica Jay will be honored on Oct. 14, the Southampton Independent School District announced.
Zay will be lauded for her accomplishments as a lacrosse player at Gettysburg College from 1997 to 2001. During that time, she was a four-year starter and in her junior year, was named Second Team All-American and First Team All-Conference , the district said.
As a senior, she became the program's first Centennial Conference Player of the Year. She finished with a career-high 32 points on 59 ground balls, 24 rebounds and 15 turnover challenges, district officials added.
He made the All-American team for the second year in a row and was named the ECAC Player of the Year and First Team All-Metro District, the district said.
She finished her career with 86 points, 175 ground balls, 112 draws and 78 caused turnovers in 69 games, officials added.
“The Southampton School District congratulates Jay on this impressive achievement,” the district said.
