Sorry, snow lovers. Less than an inch of the white stuff is now expected to accumulate on Long Island Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
Winter weather warnings have been issued for parts of the Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Connecticut, but the island will be largely spared. The timing of each snowfall has also changed, which is good news for commuters.
Earlier forecasts called for snow and sleet during the Monday afternoon commute, but now the sleet has been eliminated from the forecast and any accumulated snow is expected to remain until Monday night.

Monday Night- A chance of snow before 9:00 PM, then rain and snow possibly between 9:00 PM and midnight, then rain after midnight. Low around 34. Calm wind becoming northeast around 6 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than half an inch possible.
Tuesday- Rain. High near 40. Wind chill values between 30 and 35. Northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of rain is 100%. New rainfall between a quarter and a half inch possible.
Tuesday Night- 40 percent chance of rain before 8pm. Cloudy in the early evening, then partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph.
Wednesday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 37.
