SAG HARBOR, NY — A lesson in culinary excellence was recently delivered to a Sag Harbor pre-K classroom.
Award-winning chef Paul Del Favero of Harbor Market and Kitchen in Sag Harbor was recently invited to Nicole Cumming's pre-kindergarten class. Del Favero, who is also co-owner of Harbor Market and Kitchen, has more than 30 years of experience as a chef.
To prepare for his visit, students made their own chef hats as they discussed how Del Favero's skills allowed him to be a “community helper,” the district said.
Del Favero began his career in France and has since won many awards, including a Michelin star. Now a part of the Sag Harbor community, Del Favero's store is known as a neighborhood market, the district said.
While wearing their new chef hats, the students listened to Del Favero talk about the Market and his work. Students then had the opportunity to roll out the bread and pizza dough to make a pizza pie shape or a loaf of bread shape, the district said.
