RIVERHEAD, NY — Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) announced today that it received an “A” hospital safety rating from the Leapfrog Group in its Fall 2023 report. PBMC was one of only seven hospitals in Long Island and the only hospital in Eastern Suffolk County to achieve this prestigious distinction. Leapfrog is the leading advocate for transparency in healthcare and is considered one of the most respected and widely used security benchmarks in the healthcare industry. The announcement comes on the heels of three Awards of Excellence from PBMC along with several 5-Star rankings across a range of specialties from Healthgrades, including cardiac care, orthopedics, neuroscience, pulmonary, gastrointestinal and critical care. This is PBMC's second consecutive “A” rating for hospital safety.
“This 'A' safety rating signifies PBMC's dedication to maintaining the highest standards of safety for its patients and for the communities throughout Eastern Suffolk County,” said Amy Loeb, EdD, MBA, RN, PBMC executive director. “This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to providing excellent healthcare services and ensuring the safety of our patients. I am incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this a reality, which builds on our success as we embark on an expansion initiative to further advance healthcare in this region.”
