SOUTHOLD, NY — An employee was recently arrested on an under-age alcohol enforcement detail, police said.
On Monday, January 29, the New York State Police Barracks in Riverside conducted the operation in Southold Town, officials said. A retail store was reported for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover state trooper under the age of 21, police said.
A 46-year-old Bellerose man, an employee at Showcase Wine & Liquor on County Road 48 in Southold, was arrested and charged with first-degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibition to sell liquor, police said.
The following facilities were also inspected and found to be in compliance, police said:

- Rich Harvest Wine & Liquors on Main Rd. in Mattituck.
- BP Okan Grocery on Main Rd. in Mattituck.
- 7-Eleven on Main Rd. in Kutsog.
- Peconic Liquors on Main Rd. in Kutsog.
- Gulf Mini Mart on Main Rd. in Southold.
- Bogey's Bottled Goods on Main Rd. in Southold.
- 7-Eleven on Main Rd. in Southold.
- Gulf Mini Mart on Youngs Avenue in Southold.
- BP on County Rd. 48 in Peconic.
- NOFO Beer and Smoke on County Rd. 48 in Mattituk.
