John D. Roller, a resident of Southampton since 1950, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 29, 2015 in Hamptons Center after a brief illness. It was 92.
Roller was born in Carnac, Illinois in 1923 and spent much of his childhood in Kansas.
He was raised by his mother, Bernice Martins Roller, who died in 1989.
He had a sister, Mary who died as a toddler before Roller was born.
He attended the University of Kansas and served in the United States Army.
Roller found his calling as a hairdresser, serving clients for over fifty years in New York, Southampton and other areas.
Although he never married or had children, Roller had many friends and exciting adventures throughout his life.
He was buried on Wednesday, October 7, next to his mother at the Alma City Cemetery in Alma, Kansas.
Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton was entrusted with his care.
