Visit: Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the O'Connell Funeral Home at 30 Little Plains Road in Southampton.
Services: A memorial mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 17, beginning at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Poland RC Church at 35 Maple Street in Southampton. A private cremation will follow.
Donations: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Obituary: James T. Bradley, of Southampton, died Friday, April 3, at his home in Palm Coast, Florida. It was 74.
He was born on April 24, 1940 to James and Catherine (McGuire) Bradley in Buffalo, New York.
Bradley enlisted in the US Air Force at age 17 and was stationed at Westhampton Beach, where he met Joan, his wife of 54 years.
“Big Jim”, as he was known to his friends, was a beloved member of the Southampton community where he and Joan lived and raised their family.
After the Air Force, he went on to work for the City of Southampton for 30 years and was a member of the North Sea Fire Service.
He had many hobbies including coaching sports teams, fishing, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.
He retired in 1995 and during retirement, enjoyed collecting classic cars, going to car shows and spending winters in Florida with his wife and their many friends.
Bradley is survived by his wife, Joan Bradley, daughter Deborah Bennett and son-in-law Thomas Bennett, of East Quogue, two sons, James Bradley Jr. and Jeffrey Bradley, both of Southampton, two granddaughters , Emily and Molly Bennett. of East Quogue, brother, John Bradley of Niskayuna, NY, sister-in-law Suzie Bradley, of California, and many nieces and nephews.
