The East Hampton Library and the Hamptons Festival of Music present a six-part series titled “Music and Art in Concert.” A selection of Oscar-winning or nominated documentary shorts. The film tells the story of how a children's choir of 4th and 5th graders at Brooklyn Friends School and elderly retirees at a Brooklyn Jewish senior center combine to perform an annual joint concert. The New York Times' John J. O'Connor called Close Harmony “the kind of production that whistles dazzlingly, leaving audiences drenched in smiles and tears and hoping for just a little more.” Close Harmony won the Academy Award for Best Documentary (Short) at the 54th Academy Awards.
