MONTAUK, N.Y. — Irish eyes will soon be smiling as the 62nd annual Montauk Friends of Erin St. Parade comes to a close. Patrick's Day.
The free event takes place on Sunday 24 March and starts at noon on Edgemere Street.
“An estimated 40,000 spectators and supporters have attended this annual event in past years, which was designed as a way to end dreary Montauk winters and welcome spring with a joyful and festive Irish celebration,” Friends of Montauk said. Steve “Puck” Dolan will lead the parade as Grand Marshal this year, officials said.
Dolan, a beloved bartender on the Montauk canvas for years, was the perfect choice, Friends of Erin said. “For more than four decades, Puck has been a quiet and steady presence for generations of Montauk families, and we're thrilled to recognize his dedication and impact by having him lead this year's parade. Let's all send him off in style!”
The parade includes a number of festive events including the John Behan Grand Marshal Luncheon on Friday 22nd March and the Annual Gala Cocktail Party on Saturday 23rd March. People can donate to the Pot of Gold raffle to help support the parade by clicking here.
