OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Connecticut's newest menorah will be lit Thursday, Dec. 7, 6 p.m., on the Old Saybrook Green. Everyone is invited to join the celebration which will include music and festive treats.
Elizabeth Meyer of Old Saybrook asked Rabbi Yaffe of Chabad of Shoreline to procure and install the menorah. Elizabeth says, “It's important for the Jewish community to see a menorah in the center of town. It will serve as a beacon of religious freedom and acceptance.”
Rabbi Yaffe thanks the town of Old Saybrook for joining more than thirty Connecticut towns and four coastal towns with public menorahs, including East Haven, Branford, Guilford and Killingworth.
If you would like a menorah in your town, please contact Rabbi Yaffe at chabad@snet.net or call 203-533-7495.
