SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — A man was arrested after an altercation allegedly took place on the Shinnecock Reservation early Monday, police said.
According to New York State Police, at approximately 1 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the detention center after reports of an altercation. Upon arrival, troopers found someone with minor facial injuries who had been beaten by a man, police said.
Further investigation revealed that Arnay Terry, 49, of Southampton, fled the residence on foot and was later found slumped on the ground near the home in thick bushes with a firearm near him. Troopers arrested Terry, police said.
Terry was arrested and charged with second-degree assault with intent to inflict bodily injury with a weapon, a felony. possession of a weapon, loaded firearm, second-degree felony, third-degree possession of a weapon, a felony. first-degree reckless endangerment, a felony. second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor. and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, police said.
