NORTH FORK, N.Y. — A Southold man was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony driving while intoxicated in Cutchogue, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident occurred at 4:05 p.m. on Route 48. Police received multiple reports of the driver of a blue 2010 Chevrolet Silverado failing to maintain his lane.
Callers said the driver nearly hit other cars after drifting out of his lane, police said. Southold police located the vehicle and Rudy Elias, 44, the sole occupant, was found to be intoxicated and arrested, police said.

He was charged with felony DWI, prior conviction within 10 years. refusal to take a breath test. second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle; bypassing an interlock device. and obstruction of government administration, police said.
He was transported to Southold police headquarters, where he was processed and held overnight to await his arraignment in Southold Town Court, police said.
