EAST HAMPTON, N.Y. — A Southampton man was arrested Thursday after damaging property in East Hampton months earlier, police said.
According to East Hampton Town Police, Genaro Sandovalgarcia, 45, of no known address, was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal damage to another person's property in the amount of more than $250, a felony. and second-degree obstruction of government administration, a misdemeanor.
Police said Sandovalgarcia, on Nov. 23 at about 7:15 a.m., while at a home on Edwards Avenue, damaged a person's property by ripping six screens from the windows, damaging the front screen door and breaking a bedroom window latch. He also ran into the woods and refused to stop when commanded, police said.
He was booked into the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, police said.
