MATTITUCK, NY —An Allentown, Pennyslvania man was arrested in Mattituck on Saturday after driving drunk and crashing his vehicle, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the crash occurred at 9:49 p.m. on Route 25. While on patrol, officers observed a collision with an airbag deployment. Mikhail Rakhmanine, 57, was driving a 2022 BMW that went off the road and struck a concrete curb, police said.
Upon further investigation, Rachmanin was found to be intoxicated, police said.
He was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.08 of 1 percent, first offense, police said.
He was taken to Southold Township police headquarters for processing and held pending, police said.
