FLANDERS, N.Y. — A man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after a head-on crash in Flanders Friday afternoon, police said.
According to Southampton police, the two-car accident happened at about 4:43 p.m. in the area of Wood Road Trail and Reeves Bay Trail. Patrol units responded and found that Melesio Chin-Ullu, 41, of Riverhead, had drifted out of his lane and collided head-on with the other motor vehicle on Wood Road Trail, police said.
No injuries were reported, police said.
He was arrested and charged with misdemeanor DWI and traffic violations and then transported to
Southampton police headquarters, where he was processed and held for a morning report, police said.
