HAMPTON BAY, N.Y. — A Flanders man was arrested after he was found to have drug issues following a crash in Hampton Bays Wednesday night, police said.
According to Southampton Police, the incident occurred at 6:05 pm at the intersection of North Road and E. Montauk Highway. David Chinchilla Ramos, 36, was involved in the two-car crash while driving south on North Road, police said.
Chinchilla Ramos was interviewed and upon further investigation, he was found to be in an impaired condition after using drugs, police said.
He was subsequently arrested, charged with driving while impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor, and transported to Southampton Police Department headquarters for arrest processing and held to appear in Southampton Justice Court for a morning arraignment, police said.
