FLANDERS, N.Y. — A Shirley man was arrested after he was found to be driving with a suspended license and a stolen license during a traffic stop, police said.
According to Southampton Police, the incident occurred at 3:39pm on Saturday. Julio C. Gutierrez-Agosto, 29, was seen driving a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and defective windshield while westbound on Flanders Road in the area of Peconic Avenue, police said.
He was then stopped at W. Main St and Griffing Ave in Riverhead and found to be driving with a suspended license, police said. Gutierrez-Agosto was also found to be in possession of stolen property, police said.
Gutierrez-Agosto was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for arrest processing. charged with fifth-degree possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor. Third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor. operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a misdemeanor; and several traffic law violations, police said.
He was released on an office appearance ticket to appear in Southampton Town Court at a later date, police said.
