MANORVILLE, N.Y. — Long Island Toy Farm in Manorville is sharing the love with lemurs this Valentine's Day.
In honor of V-Day, the toy farm will introduce residents to black and white lemurs with their favorite heart-shaped fruit, while talking about non-human primates with guests.
“These lemurs are diurnal, meaning they are most active during the day,” said the Long Island Game Fam. “They live in social groups made up of many males and many females, and females are the dominant sex. They love fruit, have a taste for nectar, leaves, flowers, buds, fungi and soil of other foods.”
Treats and talk will be presented on Saturday, February 17th and Sunday, February 18th at noon. The price is included with the entrance to the park.
The Long Island Game Farm recently received a $568,000 grant from Suffolk County to create a universal access trail and renovate the auditorium to expand programs and offerings. Unfortunately, the game farm was struck by tragedy when Bobo, a beloved giraffe, died suddenly in October.
