SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Last week, we asked local business owners across the country how Patch could best help them deal with the economic downturn caused by the novel coronavirus. We received hundreds of responses and a number of great ideas — stay tuned! — but by far the most common response was, “Help us let the community know we're open for business.”
So we created a simple local directory page that business owners can quickly and easily update with their status. Business owners can update their details in the form at the bottom of this article. Patch readers can find the local directory here.
We will publish the directory on Patch, in our local email newsletters and on our local Facebook pages to ensure that as many members of the community as possible are aware of the status of your business. We will continue to do this until this crisis passes and our local businesses are back to business as usual.
We also understand that many local businesses are not open at this time, but are working on contingency plans to reopen soon. You can list your business and update it when you reopen.
Local Patch readers who want to know what's open in town can access the directory here. We encourage you to share the link with your friends, neighbors and social media connections to help support local businesses during this very difficult time. And if you know a local business owner, be sure to include their business on the list by nominating them in this article.
We are working on a number of initiatives to further support local businesses in the communities we serve. We will update all our readers on these efforts in the coming days. Thanks for reading Patch and for supporting local businesses in your town.
