The local Southampton College Summer Baseball team announces that they are looking for host families in the area during their summer season.
The Southampton Breakers, one of seven teams in the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League, will begin their 8th season in June.
Sanctioned by the NCAA and Major League Baseball with top college players from around the country, these players have a dream and the dedication to make it to the big leagues.
The Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League has had more than 500 players come to the East End over the past seven summers, and last year, the Southampton Breakers were the league's 2014 champions.
Players must be housed with local families during the competition and accommodation is in short supply, so the Host Family Program is looking for residents to open their homes to the young men.
The young men have been carefully screened and prepared by their college coaches, and only those with the necessary maturity are allowed to participate.
Residents interested in housing an athlete or two for two months can call Sean and Tase McCulley at 631-258-6955 or by e-mail at tmcculley71@optonline.net.
