A group of Lindenhurst High School students recently took a trip to the Lindenhurst Fire Department. The visit allowed the students to see firsthand how these volunteers keep the community safe.
Lindenhurst firefighters gave students a tour of their firehouse, where they were able to get up close and personal with the department's fire engines. The students also had the opportunity to try out some of the firefighting tools and see how it is used in everyday firefighting operations.
The visit helped the students make connections with the community and provided them with real-world insights to foster a sense of appreciation for the valuable services these local heroes provide. The experience was organized in part by Michael Degregorio, of the Lindenhurst Security Department.
