Sayville Running Company doesn't let cold temperatures or a little snow get in the way of holiday fun. The Main Street retailer ran what it calls a “fun little toy run” this weekend that was a “prediction run.” Everyone donated a toy and guessed what their time would be for the four mile run.
Maysonet joins the Redskins practice squad
A seventh team, the first in the Town of East Hampton, joined the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League. The Montauk Mustangs will compete against teams from the North Fork, Riverhead, Westhampton, Southampton, Sag Harbor (playing at Mashashimuet Park in the city of Southampton) and Shelter Island for the 2014 league title beginning in early June.
Northport and Elwood Kickline Place in LI Competition
skills at a recent Long Island Kickline Association competition. Ellwood placed third in the Middle School division for the kickline routine and third for the pom routine. Also in the high school division, Northport took first place for both the dance and pom routines, and East Northport took third place for its dance routine.
Schreiber Bowler Rolls Perfect Game
For the first time in school history, a member of the Schreiber High School bowling team hit a 300, according to the school district's website. Jameson Santelli, a senior, posted a perfect score in the second game of a recent 644-597, 738-536, 659-594 win against Manhasset High School.
The Hewlett Bulldogs are the winners of the Sprig Gardner Tournament. Patch reader Mitchell Greebel posted this great news on the Patch boards: “With his wrestling team coming off a third-place finish at the always tough Long Beach Battle at the Beach, Coach Stephen Jones was extremely confident in how his team will perform. at the Sprig Gardner Tournament.”
