Smithtown East swimmer sets new record in breaststroke
A high school senior sets new records at the winter swimming national finals in Tennessee. Ben Cono, a senior at Smithtown East High School, swam the 100-yard breaststroke in a personal best 56.95 seconds at the AT&T Winter Nationals Swimming at the University of Tennessee. Click here for more.
Molly Josephs of Garden City was named USA Track & Field's 2013 Henry Laskau Award winner Saturday at the USATF annual meet in Indianapolis. The award, presented to the top young female jockey in the United States, commemorates the achievements of the first modern walker to achieve stardom – three-time Olympian Henry Laskau. Schreiber Honored by Town teams for county titles
The Schreiber High School girls tennis team and boys volleyball teams were honored at City Hall this week for winning the 2013 Nassau County Championships. The Girls Tennis team defeated Manhasset in the Finals on Oct. 18 to advance to its first Long Island since 2008. The Boys Volleyball team defeated top-ranked Massapequa to take the Class A Nassau Championship on November 6th. Click here for more.
