LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Islanders are dealing with another round of wet weather.
According to the National Weather Service, a hazardous weather outlook is in effect from 11:00 p.m. Thursday until 6:00 a.m. Friday. Strong, gusty winds and a period of moderate to heavy rain are possible Thursday night into early Friday morning, the NWS said.
Brian Ciemnecki, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Upton, said rain will continue overnight Thursday, with 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch expected in total. Winds are expected to increase steadily Thursday afternoon to 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph by late afternoon. By tonight, winds are expected to range from 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph possible, he said.
