Pierson-Bridgehampton field hockey are New York State champions.
The Lady Whalers won the Class C title 1-0 over the Cazenovia Lady Lakers in double overtime Sunday at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. The win came less than 24 hours after winning the semifinals in a quadruple overtime shootout.
Kasey Gilbride scored the game-winning goal with just 32.9 seconds left in the sudden-death double overtime, according to The Sag Harbor Express.
