EAST QUOGUE, NY — Heroism saved a student's life recently in East Quogue.
To honor these efforts, Southampton Deputy Town Supervisor Frank Zappone presented a proclamation to East Quogue Elementary School fourth grade teacher Linda O'Brien, special education teacher Jen Owens and Board of Education Commissioner Brianna Gladding for their heroic efforts to recently save a student from drowning using the Heimlich maneuver.
In addition, the East Quogue Fire Department and the American Heart Association provided certificates for their efforts, along with student Cooper Gladding, who was instrumental in helping his teachers.
