BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — The Bridgehampton School District has been designated a breastfeeding-friendly New York construction site.
The site was recognized with a certificate of breast-feeding-friendly construction site designation from the state, school officials said. The certificate was presented by members of the community outreach and adolescent medicine department at Cohen Children's Medical Center, Northwell Health at the Sept. 21 Bridgehampton Board of Education meeting, officials said.
“We are proud to be a part of this important initiative and confident in the positive outcomes it will promote for our colleagues in Bridgehampton,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mary Kelly. “This recognition further exemplifies our commitment to providing a supportive environment for breastfeeding employees.”
The district is the second on Long Island to work toward and receive the distinction. the other is Wyandanch, according to Newsday.
