BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — Surf's up: Holiday House Hamptons hosted a new event, “Get On Board,” Friday night in Bridgehampton to raise funds for breast cancer research.
The event featured more than 20 surfboards designed by local Hamptons artists, helping to raise “critical funds” for The Ellen Hermanson Foundation to fund the Breast Center at Southampton Hospital, organizers said.
Hosts for the evening were Holiday House founder Iris Dankner. Ellen Hermanson Foundation Founder Julie Ratner. and Schneps Media President Victoria Schneps.
More than 100 guests strolled the East End estate enjoying light food and cocktails as they admired the diverse artist's surfboards.
Presented by Joe Badilla of Badilla Painters and Roman Roth of Wolffer Estate, the event showcased the talents of artists such as Catalina Badilla, Lindsay Bardwell, Lori Campbell, Lisa Cusano, Anahi Decanio, Jennifer De Klaver, Allison Eden, Patti Grabel, Ted Hart, Neil Kerman, Jerome Lucani, Paton Miller, Oscar Molina, Jeff Muhs, Cindy Shaoul, and Alison Stager. Each designed and donated their unique surfboard to support breast cancer research.
“Creating this event and working with each of these incredibly talented artists this summer has been a wonderful experience,” said Dankner. “Art has always been my first love, so making my showrooms more art-focused has been such a rewarding endeavor. It's been an honor to be able to spotlight local Hamptons artists and more importantly, to be able to donate the proceeds from the auction to a local Hamptons charity that is very close to my heart, the Ellen Hermanson Foundation.”
Attendees included Dankner, Ratner, Vera Wang, Lynn Blumenfeld, Enrique “Mago” Martinez, Joe Badilla, Catalina Badilla, Lindsay Bardwil, Lori Campbell, Lisa Cusano, Anahi Decanio, Jennifer De Klaver, Allison Eden, Yubalitquez, Patti Grabel , Ted Hartley, Jerome Lucani, Paton Miller, Oscar Molina, Jeff Muhs, Cindy Shaoul, and Alison Stager.
All surfboards are currently on display at the Holiday House Auction Gallery, located at 279 Mitchell Lane in Bridgehampton. Bids for the surfboards can be submitted through CharityBuzz.com until August 31st.
Founded by interior designer and breast cancer survivor Dankner in 2008, Holiday House is an interior design showroom where leading interior designers and lifestyle brands can showcase their talent, organizers said. All proceeds from Holiday House events benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Ellen Hermanson Foundation.
