RIVERSIDE, NY — A Flanders man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated with a child in the car Friday, police said.
According to Southampton Police, the incident occurred at approximately 11.58pm when officers saw a driver committing multiple traffic offenses on Flanders Road in Riverside.
The vehicle was stopped and upon further investigation, the driver, Edwin Lapa, 30, of Flanders, was found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated with a child passenger, police said.
Llapa was arrested and charged with felony DWI, Leandra's Law. driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction within 10 years, a felony. endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor; second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor; and numerous traffic violations, police said.
