EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton Town officials have proposed continuing the expansion of municipal land acquisition — with the purchase of 7.3 acres on Abrahams Path in Amagansett for
$3.875 million, city officials said.
Located at 403 Abrahams Path, the parcel would be purchased with municipal funds and
stems from a right-of-first-refusal clause in the original contract with Joelle and the late Alexander Kabbaz, city officials said.
The city purchased the 7-acre flag parcel, now designated for the new senior center, in September 2021 for $1.63 million, officials added.
While there are no current plans for the property, the acquisition will help address the city's future need for municipal resources, officials said.
East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez emphasized the importance of this
Buy. “This acquisition gives us the flexibility we need to adapt future initiatives for the evolving needs of our community. It represents an investment in the long-term viability and prosperity of East Hampton, ensuring we can continue to thrive in a way that benefits all residents.” “
