BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY — Voters have spoken — and approved the Bridgehampton School District's proposed 2024 to 2025 school budget by a vote of 98-21.
The budget, the Board of Education said, “all existing programs while continuing to enhance educational opportunities for students. The budget includes a modest increase in spending
3.74 percent and a 3.34 percent tax increase, which is within the district's allowable
upper limit of taxation”.
Four BOE candidates ran for four seats: incumbent Jo Ann Comfort received 98 votes; Angela Chmielewski scored a 74; Nicole DeCastri Zabala, 65 — and Merritt Thomas received 63 votes.
