SOUTHAMPTON, NY — The dedicated members of the Southampton Village Volunteer Ambulance Company recently welcomed a new ambulance.Led by Chief Kyle McGuiness, 1st Assistant Chief Chris Epley and 2nd Assistant Chief Colby Gill, SVVA is comprised of a volunteer staff of 78 full-time and support volunteers, consisting of paramedics, EMTs, drivers and assistants, SVVA said. “SVVA has achieved this by focusing on member recruitment, top-notch training and member retention efforts,” said SVVA. January 31, 2022 Our City Highway Department, under the direction of our new Highway Superintendent Charlie McArdle, did an amazing job trying to clear the snow from the roads. An exceptionally high amount of snow has fallen across the city of Southampton and dedicated Highways workers are still working to make the roads safe and passable. Workers are active from 1:00 am. on January 29 and continued to work today. Efforts are expected to continue tomorrow. SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — A crash in Southampton closed County Road 39 for several hours Friday, police said.According to Southampton Police, the crash occurred at approximately 11:35 a.m. on County Road 39 near Tuckahoe Lane. MATTITUCK, NY — Two Mattituck High School students are helping their classmates achieve academic success.Mattituck High School students Alexa Field and Alexandra Rychlik “recognized the importance of academic support from their peers and decided the best way to do that would be to create a Home Help Club,” said the Mattituck School District- Cutchogue. The new club meets on Fridays and students can get academic help to complete class work and homework. Students can also get tips on improving their study skills, time management skills and ways to improve their grades, the district added.
The Pierson-Bridgehampton field hockey team earned bragging rights Thursday night by winning the Suffolk County Class C final against Southampton at Dowling College on Thursday night.
