SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — A man was arrested after an altercation allegedly took place on the Shinnecock Reservation early Monday, police said.According to New York State Police, at approximately 1 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the detention center after reports of an altercation. Upon arrival, troopers found someone with minor facial injuries who had been beaten by a man, police said. Further investigation revealed that Arnay Terry, 49, of Southampton, fled the residence on foot and was later found slumped on the ground near the home in thick bushes with a firearm near him. FLANDERS, N.Y. — A Calverton woman was arrested after she was caught asleep at the wheel while impaired by drugs in Flanders Monday night, police said.According to Southampton Police, at approximately 11:52 p.m., a call came in about someone sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle in the area of Flanders Road and Oak Avenue. Marcia Lynn Ekster, 43, was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, police said. He was processed at Southampton Police headquarters and held for arraignment in the morning, police said.

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Firefighters rushed to battle a house that caught fire in Southampton Tuesday night.According to Southampton Fire Department Public Information Officer and former Chief Chris Brenner Sr., at 9:57 p.m., the department was called to a fire on Henry Street in Southampton Village.
