AMAGANSETT, NY — A full-scale mass casualty incident drill involving a train is set to take place Sunday morning in Amagansett.
The event will take place on Montauk Highway beginning at 8 a.m., with the actual drill scheduled to unfold from 9 a.m. to noon.
All emergency agencies serving East Hampton Town have been invited to participate, including fire, EMS and police. The exercise is organized in partnership with the East Hampton Town Chiefs Association, Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and the MTA Long Island Rail Road, organizers said.

Emergency service vehicles will respond to the exercise with actors playing patients, some of whom will be taken by ambulance to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital.
The public should be aware that the exercise is an exercise and will not disrupt emergency services as other crews will be on hand to respond to the normal volume of calls. Access to the hospital is also unrestricted, officials said.

The actors playing the “patients” will be taken to Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, hospital officials said.
“The exercise is an exercise and will not disrupt any hospital services. All staff, patients and visitors will have unrestricted access. Local residents will also have access to and from their homes during the exercise,” it said. the hospital.
Residents should be aware that participating emergency vehicles will be on site as well as patient transporters, the hospital said.
The following road closures are expected to be in place in Southampton:
- Lane Meeting House (between Lewis St and Old Town Rd.)
- Lewis Street (Between Meeting House Ln and Herrick Rd.)
- Herrick Road (between Lewis Street and Old Town Rd.)
- Old Town Road (between Rogers Ave and Wickapogue Rd)
- Wickapogue Rd (between Old Town Rd and Narrow Ln.)
