OLD SAYBROOK, CT — Local arts organizations will receive $63,734 through the Department of Economic and Community Development's Office of the Arts, according to a statement from state Sen. Martha Marx (D-New London).
“Our local arts organizations instill a love of culture in our youth and fill our communities with beauty,” Marx said. “To hear that more than a dozen local organizations will receive this valuable support helping them continue their important work is wonderful. I am grateful for the state's support of these local groups.”
The Supporting Arts grant program provides general operating support to Connecticut arts organizations and municipal arts departments. organizations that receive funds can use them where they are needed most.
The program uses state and federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
