SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Southampton High School seniors have done their region and city proud.
In recognition of their outstanding achievement on national Advanced Placement exams, 19 seniors earned Advanced Placement Scholar designations, the district said.
Of those honored, seven were named AP Scholars, another 10 earned AP Scholar with Honor recognition and two were recognized as AP Scholars with Distinction, officials added.
To earn Scholar recognition, students must score a 3 or higher on three or more AP exams. For Scholar with Honor, they must earn a 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of those exams. and for Scholar with Distinction, they must receive a 3.5 grade point average on all AP exams and grades of 4 or higher on five or more of those exams, the district said.
